6 things I loved in October
October has been hectic and gone by with a flash, seriously, how is it the 6th November today? I have been a little absent from the blog as a result of the craziness, but I thought it would be good to share what I have been up to and loving in October. After all, it won’t be long until the end of the year, which is just crazy.
1. Coming back to uni
I have loved coming back to uni. I have to say I was a little nervous about coming back after a year at home working and living with my parents again. But, I think this has actually been my favourite year so far. We have come back to live in the same house as second year and it has felt like coming home. I loved setting up my room again and putting everything in its little place. But, I have also loved getting back into the swing of things and enjoyed a few events during freshers week. We have had so much fun as a house, especially when the boyfriends join us for the weekend too. Let’s also not forget Halloween, because I loved getting dressed up for that!
2. Getting back to uni work
To be honest final year has hit me hard. There is a lot to juggle and it has not been easy. People say students have it easy, but I have to disagree. Having said that, this still makes the list because I have actually really enjoyed the challenge. This is probably something I learned about myself during my placement year, in that I actually really enjoy being under pressure. This basically means that I am loving the challenge of juggling everything, just as long as it doesn’t get too much of course. I am actually going to write another blog post about this soon.
3. Enjoying our weekends
Having said that I love the working, I have also loved having plans each weekend. This can be as simple as a plan to get pizza for dinner on a Saturday night. I have learned that I just need something to get me through the week, no matter how big or small that is, so to have weekends full of fun is just the best. We have been trying to do this every weekend, but of course it does make for a busier life.
4. A little trip to Cornwall
If you have been reading for a while, you will have seen us visit Cornwall before. It is the perfect way to relax, enjoy some time with the family, eat lots and surf. We spent the whole week relaxing (although I was still doing uni work) and overall it was just good to escape the stressful environment that uni can sometimes become. We even saw a seal on the beach in the evening after one of our meals out!
5. Finally having some career inspiration
Having been working on a part-time job at the same time as doing my uni course, I have been speaking to so many people and gaining more and more inspiration. I think I have finally decided the route in which I would like to go when I leave university. I am finding it much easier to motivate myself to do the work I need to with this in mind.
6. Staying motivated at the gym
Again, I am going to write another blog post about this soon, but I have really been loving getting in the gym, especially early in the morning.
There’s just a little life update from me. October has been hectic, but I have actually had a great month!
