A birthday spa day at Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa
As I mentioned in my previous post, my birthday was at the start of the month. I had chosen to spend it enjoying a spa day with Craig. It was actually a gift I had received upon finishing my work placement back in the summer, which is why I thought it was a great time to use it. We went to Brandshatch Place Hote & Spa for the day and it was brilliant.
We received brilliant service from the moment we walked into the spa. We were looked after and asked to fill in a form with our preferences for our treatments. As well as this, we were given smoothie shots to kick start our day. This service was maintained throughout the day. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we were made to feel as though there was no one else for the staff to look after, when clearly there was.
During the day we had full use of the facilities at the spa and health club. This meant we could start our day with a workout in the brilliant gym facilities that my body was craving following an indulgent Christmas and New Year period. There is a room full of machines including bikes, treadmills and cross trainers, as well as a functional training room (my personal favourite) and virtual spin studio. As well as that, the pool area includes a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. All of the pool area has been refurbished since we visited the hotel- so I am sure it is even nicer now! There are also two relaxing rooms, which means there are plenty of opportunities to relax.
Craig and I both enjoyed a 25 minute back, neck and shoulder massage. The main thing you need to know is that we both said that it wasn’t long enough. We both enjoyed it immensely, the therapists were keen to ensure we were enjoying the level of pressure and we felt so much better following the treatment.
The afternoon tea
We finished a wonderful spa day with the most delicious afternoon tea. Craig had recently turned dairy free and so I was a little worried about him having an afternoon tea. I shouldn’t have worried as they made every effort to ensure he also enjoyed a delicious treat and to be honest I was almost a little jealous of what he received (look at those sandwiches!). We loved it so much that we even took home our leftovers in goody bags – in the shape of swans.
We were more than impressed with the day that we experience and I would happily give anyone the gift of a spa day here. It meant I had a lovely birthday and was something a little different for my special. I would thoroughly recommend Brandshatch Place for a wonderful experience.
