A Life Update
Wow, I can’t believe it is the middle of April. As always life has got a little bit hectic and what is the first thing to stop when that happens? My blog. It makes me so sad when I can’t find the time to blog, but I think when stressed, creativity just doesn’t flow. It means I wouldn’t create content I like and so it is often better to just put it on pause. Having said that I really want to try and find time for the things I love and am working on creating balance – see below. I thought I would just take this time to do a little bit of a life update.
Yep, its that time of year again. Hello assignments and exams, goodbye everything else. I have found that final year has been so full of group projects it hurts. I mean I love working as a group, you get so many more great ideas. But, equally, everything takes so much longer as everyone needs to find the time to actually work together. When you already have a busy schedule it can be a bit of a struggle. This week in particular has featured some very long days and if you follow me on Instagram, I am sure you will know because I have been talking about it a lot. I have only 7 weeks to go until I complete my final exam, so it is unsurprising that things are getting serious. So scary, but also exciting!
Life after university
Something else that is taking up a lot of my time is considering what I am going to do after university. I spoke about my interview experience whilst trying to get a placement in second year. I am not the most confident with interviews. But, I am determined. I have been trawling the web looking for appropriate jobs as well as having attended a couple of interviews already. It is safe to say that job hunting is quite time consuming, but it will all be worth it in a few months, when I have the dream job.
Fun, fun, fun
Both of the above made it sound like life is just full of work, work, work, work, work, which it is, but equally work hard play hard is a great motto to have. I have been “off university” for Easter for April and whilst I have obviously been working hard, I have been making the most of the freedom. I caught up with friends who flew down from Edinburgh earlier in the month, as well as Go Ape at the start of the month. It was actually more scary than I thought, but I did love it too! A real adrenaline rush!
Obviously, Craig also ran the Brighton marathon last weekend. The whole team absolutely smashed it and managed to finish the marathon in 4 hours 52 minutes. I mean what!? Who can run for that long (not me)! I was so proud of all of them for doing it and it seems likely he will be doing it again next year… watch this space. Also, thank you to anyone that supported him and if you are interested in his journey of becoming a personal trainer, please head over to his Instagram. It was also so lovely to spend some time in Brighton again, it is one of our favourite places in the UK and I would 100% love to move there one day (again watch this space). There is such a lovely vibe there and I could wander around the streets for hours and hours.
This year I also wanted to focus on my fitness. For a long time, I have been going to the gym and loving it. I find it so good for my mental health as well as my physical health and will for sure be writing a blog post on it. However, before I shared my advice, I wanted to be confident in it. This year, I purchased Carly Rowena’s Get Gorgeous Guide I mainly purchased it, as sometimes I lack inspiration at the gym. This guide provides me with 12 weeks of workouts, 3 per week, including abs, lower body and upper body. I have found it so flexible, as although it is supposed to last 12 weeks, when life gets in the way, I just put it on hold. Overall, I have been loving the guide and would highly recommend it. Check my Instagram for the results at the end of the twelve week period and look out for that fitness blog post coming soon.
Recently, I have been trying to balance everything in my life. University, freelance work and relaxing with friends and family; it can be difficult to balance. It is something that I am working hard to improve and have found to be even more important this year.
Basically, I am just trying to make the most of my final year at university. I am always looking for the next step and trying to push myself, but equally take time out to relax too. With the next step in mind, I am considering the possibility of starting to vlog towards the end of university… I tried it previously and it was unsuccessful, so I am not 100%. However, if you want to keep up with what I am doing then please follow me over on Instagram as I am working on posting more over there too.
How are you all doing? Sorry for the mammoth post, but I am back to it now!
