Blogmas Day 6: A Christmas Tag
20 days until Christmas! Woo! I haven’t done a tag before and I thought what would be better than trying it at Christmas? It is not anything particularly deep, but here are a few questions I found across various tags. Perhaps you will learn a thing or two about me!
Where do you spend Christmas?
This has always been straight forward for me. Christmas has always been spent at home with my family or with at my Auntie and Uncle’s. I basically just went wherever my family went. However, as I get older it seems to get more confusing. I now want to spend time with my boyfriend at Christmas and as his parents are separated it makes things a little more confusing! This year I am spending Christmas day with my boyfriend at his Mum’s house and then spending Boxing Day with my family, whilst he goes to his Dad’s. I guess as we get older things will get easier as we will get more into it.
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
In case you have missed my top 5 Christmas films from previous blogmas post, my absolute favourite Christmas film is Elf. It fills me with so much happiness and really kicks off the festive period and makes me feel extra Christmassy.
Do you prefer giving gifts or receiving gifts?
100% giving gifts. I think everyone enjoys receiving gifts, but I get so excited to give a gift! It is one of the best parts of Christmas, to see if the person you have bought the present for loves it as much as you had hoped.
Who are you most excited to see this Christmas season?
I am most excited to spend time with my family this year. As we get older (my brother and I) we seem to spend less time at home altogether. I can’t wait to spend some quality time at home with everyone just chilled and not rushing around doing little chores.
Have you ever tried a fruitcake?
Yes, this is one of the downsides of Christmas for me. I hate dried fruit and it seems to feature in an awful lot of Christmas recipes. Christmas cake is probably my least favourite cake and I always look for an alternative.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
When I was younger we always had a real tree, I loved it and I love the smell of a real Christmas tree. However, in more recent years we have had a log burner installed in our front room and ever since we have used a fake Christmas tree. We are just not convinced that a real tree would last throughout the whole of Christmas with the log burner being so hot.
Do you have any Christmas Eve Traditions?
Christmas Eve used to consist of enjoying a KFC with a game or two. Now, our family have been eating healthier with less fat in our foods and so not many of us actually enjoy KFC anymore. Perhaps we will need a new tradition this year. But, I am sure we will keep the games!
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Absolutely not! Usually we open all of our Christmas presents on Christmas Day. This year it will probably be more on Boxing Day as this is when I am spending time with my family.
What tops your Christmas Tree?
We actually have two Christmas trees in our house, one of the toppers is a star and one is a mini Santa Clause (slightly untraditional but it looks cute).
What is the best thing about Christmas for you?
This is a hard one, I don’t think I can choose one thing. So I will choose one scenario, which is enjoying a Christmas dinner with all my family around the table.
What is your favourite festive food or treat?
For those of you who know me well, you will know this is a difficult one for me. Food rules all aspects and celebrations in my life! I already mentioned my love for Costa Black Forest Hot Chocolates, but my favourite Christmas treat is probably little “Lebukchen” biscuits. I will probably write a post of my favourite Christmas treats soon.
I hope you enjoyed my answers to a few of these questions. I am really enjoying the challenge of blogmas at the moment, especially as I have no much going on elsewhere, it is a good release.
