It has taken 2 years of my uncle and auntie living in Manchester for me to finally visit. I had a long weekend with them in the city and loved every second of it. We managed to squeeze so much into such a short period of time (especially a lot of food and drink!) and Manchester is a great city. I am ready to book in my next visit very soon!
On Friday we spent the afternoon in Manchester itself, exploring the city and there is such beautiful architecture across the whole city.
We were so busy during our time there as we were not there for very long. I particularly enjoyed our time in central Manchester and would be keen to explore more in the day time during a future visit.
Our Friday evening started with a game of Junkyard golf, which is basically indoor crazy golf with a bar. There are two courses, but unfortunately we only had time for one. It was great fun and I even got a hole in one (followed by the rest of the course being maximum shots… beginners luck I think?!).
We didn’t have time for another round as we had a table booked at Teppanyaki, China Town. I had seen so many of these online and so was really excited to finally go to one. It didn’t disappoint, the food was delicious and the experience was so different and exciting from anything I’ve had before. I even mastered the art of chopsticks, which I found very exciting!
We finished the evening with drinks in multiple bars, but my favourite by far was The Alchemist. The drinks are so theatrical and my Long Island Iced Tea came out bubbling and did not stop for ages! It was also delicious; another great experience.
The next day we took a gentle stroll on the beach at Kirby followed by another delicious meal at Simon Rimmer’s pub, The Viking, where I had the most amazing fish and chips, another place I would definitely recommend!
Like I said, I loved Manchester and cannot wait to visit again very soon. Do you have any recommendations of where to go in the city?
